Claremont Friends Meeting

The Claremont Friends Meeting is the religious community of Quakers located in Clarmeont, CA.  They hold silent worship weekly on Sundays congruent with children's meeting for education.  Additional forms of worship are available to those in the community who want to hold leadership roles or do other forms of service.

Saint-Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church

The Saint Nectarios Parish of Covina, California was established on October 12, 1973. Church Services commenced at St. John’s Episcopal Church in La Verne, California, on June 30, 1974. Since 1979, the parish became a Shrine with which thousands have made contact for prayer and healing.

Synanon

Fun Fact: in 1970 when George Lucas needed dozens of actors with shaved heads for the movie THX 1138, he found the extras at Synanon. People at Synanon worshipped sobriety and expressed solidarity by shaving their heads.

Temple Beth Israel (Carlo Lipson)

This exhibit presents Temple Beth Israel, a Reform Synagogue that serves hundreds of Jewish families throughout the Pomona and San Gabriel Valleys.  These photos and documentation explore the TBI congregation that partake in Jewish tradition, Torah study, spiritual fulfillment and social justice.

Through presenting Temple Beth Israel, this site also explores Judaism and the many traditions, cultures, people, practices, and experiences that are involved with this storied Jewish way of life

Vinh Nghiem Temple

Buddhism is one of the four primary religions and philosophies that shape the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people. (The others are: Confucianism, Taoism and Christianity.) This exhibt looks to explore Vietnamese Buddhism in the Greater Los Angles area.
