This screenshot depicts the homepage of Remy Wilson's work surrounding the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. It is an important part of Jewish history and is relevant for this exhibit about Temple Beth Israel because of their shared connection to Jewish faith, history and traditions.

This site, created by Remy Wilson, explores the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust (LAMOTH).  It is a very detailed and in-depth presentation of this Museum that aims to provide a source of commemoration and education about this horrific event, not only for the Jewish people but the general population.  According to the attached website, as well as the official LAMOTH website, the museum's mission is to commemorates those who perished and honor those who survived by housing many of the precious artifacts and remnants survived the Holocaust.  Moreover, the museum also is committed to providing free Holocaust education to the public, particularly students from underfunded schools and underserved communities; part of this education process is the unique opportunity that the LAMOTH presents, as the museum hosts dialogues with Holocaust Survivors, who are the living embodiment of history, among other educational opportunities

The LAMOTH and Remy's informative website are both relevant when discussing Judaism, Jewish synagogues, and their storied history.  Synagogues occupy a central place in Jewish religious and communal life. However, to the Nazis in the Holocaust, these sacred religious sites served as a powerful physical reminder of the Jewish presence in Germany.  Synagogues throughout Germany were demolished, ordered by Nazi party officials; Anti-Jewish vandalism was common throughout Germany and other countries as this hateful and destructive Nazi propaganda spread to other countries.

As such, the presence of holocaust museums throughout the world are critical, as they inspire citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.
